What the primary record establishes

In a Polymarket negative-risk event, one No token for an outcome can be converted into one Yes token for each other outcome in the group. The construction relies on a single winning outcome in the ordinary settlement. Polymarket negative risk documentation ↗

What the distinction changes

Suppose the group contains A, B and C. No(A) converts into Yes(B) and Yes(C). If B wins, Yes(B) pays. If C wins, Yes(C) pays. If A wins, neither pays. The final payout matches No(A) in this example.

What to check before drawing a conclusion

Before settlement, separate order books can have different depth and executable prices. Also check the group’s treatment of Other. In augmented negative-risk events an unnamed outcome may later receive a specific name, so record the rules and the group’s state at the time of comparison.
