The broker reports USD 1.91 billion in GAAP net revenue. Its business mix requires separating commission income, net interest income and adjusted financial measures.

What the primary record establishes

Interactive Brokers’ 15 October release reports Q3 2026 GAAP diluted EPS of USD 0.69 and adjusted EPS of USD 0.67. GAAP net revenue was USD 1.91 billion, compared with USD 1.87 billion on the company’s adjusted basis. The quarter ended on 30 September. The company reports commission revenue up 12% year on year to USD 602 million and net interest income up 19% to about USD 1.15 billion. It also reports customer DARTs up 18% year on year but down 11% from Q2. These comparisons use different bases. Interactive Brokers Group — 3Q2026 earnings release, 15 October; checked 21 October ↗

What the distinction changes

For brokerage-industry analysis, revenue growth is not one operating variable. Commission activity and the interest business can respond to different balances, pricing and customer behaviour. Reading net revenue as trading commissions alone would misstate the reported mix.

Similarly, a quarterly activity measure can increase against the prior year while decreasing against the preceding quarter. Those observations are compatible. A headline saying activity rose needs to name the comparator rather than imply that every comparison improved.

What to check before drawing a conclusion

Use the issuer’s reconciliation when discussing adjusted figures and keep GAAP amounts visible. Identify the unit in each table: dollars, accounts and daily-average trades cannot be combined as if they were the same quantity. Retain the dated release because the linked latest-results endpoint may later update.

WFN treats these as issuer-reported results, not independently verified execution quality or a recommendation to buy the shares. Further industry comparisons need matching periods and definitions, plus evidence beyond a single company’s reported growth.
