TikTok is a partner of music crypto platform Audius
Music-sharing protocol Audius became one of the first streaming platforms to partner with TikTok, allowing users to directly share tracks with the popular app.
In an announcement Monday, Audius said it was partnering with TikTok to create a new feature called TikTok Sounds. According to a Rolling Stone interview with Audius co-founder and product director Forrest Browning, the integration will allow users to export songs created with the protocol to TikTok with a single click to simplify the process.

While Audius says it aims to use blockchain technology to reward content creators as well as increase transparency of payments to artists, the integration with TikTok seems to be more about music than about sending messages about cryptocurrency or decentralized finance. According to Browning, about 95 percent of Audius users "don't even know that blockchain is involved."
Approaching one billion monthly active users, TikTok reported in July that 75% of its U.S. users were discovering new artists through the app. Since its October launch, Audius now has about 5 million monthly active users, with many of its management tokens allocated to creators based on the number of streams they generate. Currently, TikTok does not allow users to receive royalties for streaming music, but instead offers opportunities for exposure and interaction with fans.
The integration is a surprise move for TikTok, given the app's decision to ban cryptocurrency-based advertising content as well as "promoting all financial services and products" in July.
Many users learned about Dogecoin cryptocurrency ( DOGE ) based on memes from TikTok videos that went viral last year.
