The CFTC registry category and the economic payoff are different descriptions. The attached KEX methodology permits intermediate settlement amounts.

What the primary record establishes

The CFTC register lists KEX filing 65555 as Certified on 21 October 2026 under Swap (Binary Option), while its product name expressly says Scalar. The filing concerns an identified NBA statistic, entity, period and game. CFTC filing 65555 — KEX NBA scalar statistics, 21 October ↗

The attached methodology defines Directional and Proximity schedules with stated ranges and linear, power or exponential shapes. A schedule is published before trading; the long payout is rounded down to the specified settlement increment and the short payout is USD 1 minus that amount. What the distinction changes

A hypothetical linear Directional schedule from 15 to 35 would pay the long side USD 0.25 at a qualifying value of 20, before any separate transaction costs. This is an illustration, not an actual listed quote or game result.

The example shows why a category label cannot replace the payoff function. Different shapes applied to the same observed statistic can produce different cash amounts without disagreement about the sports data.

What to check before drawing a conclusion

Retain the range, shape, period, settlement increment and controlling methodology version. Distinguish the increment used to settle from an assumed rounding of the observed statistic.

WFN describes the filed economic structure without predicting a player’s performance. A later verification needs both the official statistic and the schedule of the particular contract; neither a headline question nor the registry label is sufficient by itself.
